Sydney Metro Northwest Priority Urban Renewal Corridor
The NSW Government has committed $8.3 billion to build Sydney Metro Northwest – Australia’s largest transport infrastructure project currently under construction.
The Department has worked closely with Hills Shire Council, Blacktown City Council and the local community to look for opportunities for new homes, jobs, shops, cafes and parks along the 23km rail link that will run from Epping to Cudgegong Road at Rouse Hill.
In October 2013, the Hills Shire Council nominated Showground Station, Bella Vista and Kellyville as priority precincts. These were endorsed by the NSW Government in August 2014.
The draft proposals for the three precincts have been developed in line with community feedback and have been informed by a number of detailed technical studies. These draft plans were exhibited from 7 December 2015 to 28 February 2016 and the Department received around 300 submissions in response to the exhibition which can be viewed by following the links below:
Bella Vista precinct submissions
Kellyville precinct submissions
Showground precinct submissions
We will review and consider all issues raised in the submissions to the exhibition and prepare a detailed report. If significant changes to the plans are required, there may be a further public exhibition The Department will provide updates on the process via this website and by email to those who have registered for updates. Online registration forms are available on each of the precinct websites.
Cudgegong Road Station
Planning controls have also put in place at Cudgegong Road Station (Area 20 Precinct), in the North West Priority Land Release Area.
Cudgegong Road Station Precinct is set to become a vibrant new community with a range of new homes close to parks, schools, shops and cafes. Residents will also have easy access to the Cudgegong Road Station, the final stop on the Sydney Metro Northwest. The station will be open in 2019.
